Poker? Yes We Can
It’s a well known fact that the US President Barack Obama is an avid poker fan. Reported on the political news site Politico, Obama has been back on the campaign trail for the 2010 mid-term elections for the house and senate, and one senator in particular got quite a bit of endorsement from the president.
Harry Reid of Nevada was one of the most recent beneficiaries of Obama’s fund raising prowess, when the president flew out to Nevada to help Reid, stumping on behalf of his democratic colleague.
But Politico went further than that, digging up a little bit more about the president who loves our game as much as we do. He was described as one who is a “huge fan” of poker and gets excited at meeting professional poker players.
In fact, the recent campaigning on behalf of Reid motivated the president enough to “speed back to his hotel room, grab a beer and get a game of poker going.”
And of course he was in the perfect place, since Reid’s home state is Nevada, the Mecca of gambling in the US with Vegas.
In the coming weeks, he’ll have even more opportunity to scratch his gambling itch as he’ll be campaigning in Los Angeles for fellow Dem. Nancy Pelosi.
Of course, he can’t be totally candid about his love of the game due to the political etiquette required by the Washington life, but it’s good to know he’s still in touch with the common citizen who plays at Everest Poker telecharger.
