Many Interesting Deals Available with Vodafone Passport

For its 2.5 million customers, Vodafone’s Passport has provided a way to decrease their roaming data charges, when abroad. However, the package still involves high costs for use of mobile broadband outside the country.

The price of Vodafone data access overseas has been set at £4.99 for every 25 MB (which will work out to 20p for one MB) and with a minimum of £4.99 to be paid every day. 25MB, according to Vodafone, allows use of 250 average internet pages, opening and replying to 25 e-mails, utilising Google Maps to find the nearest restaurant, accessing eight reports published on the BBC News website, modifying Facebook status and watching three videos on YouTube of 90 seconds length.

If a customer does not need such a big data limit, there is another offer for usage less than 1MB, where charges are based on per KB usage. Reading and responding to a short email, which requires around 100 KB, will come to about 50p under this scheme.

The customers can also use their laptops to access the net and need not use the small screen of a mobile (click for free laptop info). This will cost them around £9.99 for 50MB in Europe and £29.99 for use outside the continent. Although 3 has been making contrary claims, this is the lowest data rate for the use of broadband abroad.

The customers should not forget that Vodafone would bill them according to the UK timings. Calculations for daily use are according to usage from 12 a.m. to 12 a.m. UK time.
