Enjoy Yourself in the Dominican Republic
I finally decided to travel with my friends to the Dominicans, and I didn’t regret my decision. Things had been pretty bad since my break-up with Sam and I really needed to get out of the rut I was in. I took me a while to decide on going on the trip as the reviews I had read were not really encouraging. It was said to be pretty unsafe for women to travel to the Dominicans. All our fears seemed silly when we got there. The streets were like any other streets one would find; pretty clean and the best thing was that vendors did not really trouble us to buy articles from them.
The package deal we got from one of the luxurious travel websites was really cool. It was some kind of flexible tour that allowed us to do our bit without really sticking to any schedules. The Iberostar Costa Dorada hotel where we stayed couldn’t have been any better. It was right on the beach and one had easy access to the sand and water. The food at the hotel appealed to all and we had quite a selection to choose from. Sarah, my friend, lost quite a bit at the casino in the hotel. We also spent time browsing for gifts in the shopping mall.
The city of Santo Domingo which we visited was something I really liked. The Zon Colonial was reminiscent of the past and was really impressive. The shops along the streets had some really beautiful amber jewelry on display. The Domincan Outback Safari and the Scubadoo Underwater adventure both appealed to my adventurous streak and were really fantastic. I took some time between all this travel to relax on the beach and acquire a fabulous tan.
I believe that the Dominican Republic is the birthplace of the Meringue but it didn’t really matter. What mattered was that I could dance to foot-tapping music and go back to my room in the wee hours of the morning. We visited the La Guacara Taina disco which was a real cool place to visit; great music and great guys. My trip to the Dominican Republic was most enjoyable and I’m glad I decided to travel to that place.
