Less Winter Sports Vacations Available this Coming Winter Season Will Mean Fewer Rebates

Skiers and snowboarders can anticipate ski holidays to cost upwards of 16 per cent more for holidays this coming winter as ski companies reduce the amount of ski vacations available.

High season weeks will be especially pricey yet even at other times there will be hardly any heavily discounted vacations.

Ski insiders say that with catered chalet operators cutting back on capacity by as much as 22 % holiday prices remain unlikely to fall.

Inquiries are already outstretching availability during half term that for the 2nd consecutive year be on the same week for most schools in Great Britain.

The increase in prices along with a reduction in the amount of vacations comes after a very good winter for snowboarders with good snowfall throughout the Alps.

The collapse of the pound sterling against the Euro wiped out profit margins leaving a lot of smaller snowboarding operators with losses.

The outlook is brighter for vacationers happy to holiday in Jan or Mar, as costs will cost on average 19 percent on the average, rather than 31 % for peak dates.

Airline businesses, chalet companies and Geneva airport transfer companies recognize that they must offer travel firms discounts or special offers. Resourceful holidaymakers will pay for as many essential extras ” ie. ski passes and equipment rental ” in pounds sterling ahead of leaving on holiday.
