Getting set up with a new doctor
We just moved recently and had to go through the whole process of getting everyone set up with new doctors. I had to get an OB/GYN and a primary care doctor, and I needed to get a doctor for both of my daughters.
At each office I had to fill out tons of paperwork, as well as give them my health insurance card to copy for their records. They also ask to see the card pretty much every time we went there for the first few months, which I thought was a bit silly since they had a copy of it in their records.
A little while ago I was having a hard time finding my daughter’s health insurance card and I was worried that I had somehow lost it. It wasn’t in my wallet where I keep all of our cards so they will always be handy, so I couldn’t imagine what had happened to it.
I would hate for someone else to take her card and use it, I have heard about that happening. Luckily I happened to mention it to my husband, and it turned out he had taken her card a while back when he brought her to the emergency room and he had forgotten to give it back to me.
